Welcome again to this new series of planetary rulers for each ascendant. As always since the zodiac cycle starts with Aries. I will start with the Aries ascendant as well with focusing on Mars in this article. I initially intended to do three planets in one article but those would be too long, so for now will be doing one planet at a time. The focus of the articles will be on these individual planets and how they can function or be used to their best ability for such an ascendant. Please read the ascendant series articles for more information on Aries itself.

MARS FOR ARIES ASCENDANT-

I start with Mars for this ascendant, as it’s the lagna lord for the chart. The lagna lord is one the most important planets for a chart, almost at par with the sun and moon placements. For Aries ascendant, Mars rules the 1^st house of physical self, outward appearance, your personality that you put out in the world. In addition, Mars also rules the 8^th house for the chart. This combination makes it particularly interesting to understand the behavior of Mars for such ascendant. 8^th house deals with transformations, changes and anything that’s hidden. It is considered as a house of extremes and can go either ways depending on your life choices and decisions.

Mars ruling these houses implies that if you are an Aries ascendant, the aspects of life that these houses govern will have a Martian approach from your side. Mars is an active, strong, quick to decide, always ready to compete soldier of the zodiac. It likes to find logical solutions to things. If there is any fixing needed anywhere, be sure to find Mars ready with a plan to fix it. This is why engineering and mechanical skills are seen by Mars placement in a chart. People many times give Mars a malefic status because of the fact that it can be aggressive and headstrong but that is not always the case. In its highest form, Mars is that calm self-sufficient soldier who when given a just battle to fight will never shy away but will also not go and pick petty fights everywhere. It stands strong in its full glory, ready to follow orders.

As I have always mentioned each quality, sign, planet has two sides and its on us to decide which side we want to let out. Astrology is not just about destiny and fixed outcomes, it is about the outcomes based on your choices and decisions, given some conditions. In mathematical term, a conditional probability if you will. Mars bringing out some maths here…

Anyways, with such a planet ruling your first house you become a very active person ready to deal with life as a whole. You like to have an active lifestyle and have lots of energy. Also since mars rules your 8^th house, you might deal with changes and challenges in a very headstrong way. Example, if some unexpected event happens in some area of life, you might become agitated and unsettled and would want to find a solution to the problem as fast as possible. You want to resolve all conflicts quickly and this might sometimes lead to further issues. It really depends on how Mars is placed in your chart, to actually see which area of life will your most focus go to. Since the first house lord goes to that house, someway or another your life focus will direct you to the matters of that house. It can also be the area seeing the most transformation.

One very important concept that I have come across and which makes a lot of sense to me is the exaltation and debilitation placements for that planet for that ascendant. What this means is, every planet has a sign where it is considered exalted (can behave in its highest fashion) and the opposite sign where it is considered debilitated (meaning losing lot of its strength). Eg, Mars is exalted in the sign of Capricorn and debilitated in the sign of Cancer. This shows that Mars is in its highest form in the Saturn ruled Capricorn sign of restrictions and boundaries. Whereas, it becomes uncomfortable in the Moon ruled water sign of cancer dealing with emotions and nurturing.

Applying this concept for an Aries ascendant, irrespective of where the actual Mars is placed in your chart, if you are an aries ascendant certain qualities come not just from your rising sign but also due to these other placements. Mars is exalted in the 10^th house of career and profession. What this implies is Aries ascendant need to be able to cultivate this quality of a Capricornian mars of restricting their boundaries in life. They will be able to put in their best effort if they choose their battles correctly. Mars respects authority and will be extremely beneficial for you if you use it wisely. Aries people should use this aspect of mars in their professional life for growth and prosperity.

Mars is debilitated in the 4^th house. What this shows is such people do not like to sit at home and do nothing. They do not deal well with emotions. If the aggression of mars is used in their home life it may cause a lot of turbulence. It is best to handle such a mars with structure and give it a plan to work on. If something in the home needs fixing, rather than dealing with emotions, if you give these people logical ideas to improve the situation they will work much better.

So to know how exactly your mars behaves and how you can make the most use of it, we really need to look at its house, sign and nakshatra placement along with the entire natal chart.

Hello everyone, since we came to an end with the ascendant series, I would like to start with another series of articles and this time on the house lords for various ascendants. These articles will focus a lot more on the intrinsic details of how each planet being the lord of a particular house would behave for a particular ascendant.

This is going to be pretty intensive even if I try to keep it to the basics. Most probably we will have two to three articles for each ascendant covering Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars, Mercury, Saturn and Jupiter rulerships and how they would affect that particular ascendant person.

Just as an introduction/refresher, for every sign occupying the first house (making it the ascendant) the following zodiac signs get placed in the 2^nd, 3^rd, 4^th and so on houses in the equal house division system. Each of these signs is ruled by a planet in the traditional vedic system, which intern allows them to rule the particular house the sign is in. Eg, For Aires ascendant, as Taurus and Libra fall in the 2^nd and 7^th house respectively, Venus becomes the ruler of those houses. What this implies is, for matters concerning the 2^nd house – family life, wealth, speech etc, and 7^th house – marriage, spouse, business partners etc we need to look at Venus and how its placed in the natal chart.

In addition to this, another very interesting approach I learnt is about the exaltation/ debilitation placements of the planets with respect to the ascendant. Meaning, for the above aries ascendant, Venus gets debilitated in 6^th house and exalted in the 12^th house. What this implies is, that for Aries ascendant people they need to deal with 6th house matter in a very “non-venusian” way. If they deploy Venusian behavior of diplomacy to solving daily life issues and conflicts they will be in trouble. Hence the head-on characteristic of Aries comes up. Similarly how they deal with 12th house issues should be best dealt with maximum utilization of venus. We will continue this more in the coming articles as how 7^th lord/2^nd lord exalted in 12^th builds up an Aries ascendant personality.

There will be many insights and small details that if you pay attention you will release why a certain ascendant is the way it is. Its not only the first house but all the other houses combined that makes up a personality. So stay tuned for more information on each sign.

 

 

Hi everyone, welcome back to the last article for the ascendant series- the Obscure Pisces. This is the last sign in the zodiac belt and is often associated with dissolution and amalgamation of everything. Lets first talk a little bit about this 12^th sign before we go into what an ascendant placement for this would mean. Being the last in the list, it can kind of contain a bit of every other eleven signs. What I mean is Pisces is all about surrendering and joining the higher realm/forces/universe whatever you might believe in. So someone having a predominance of this sign will very easily be able to relate to every other person because they will feel they have something in common with every individual. Like their predecessor, aquarius, Pisces is truly a sign for the collective. It believes in the concept of unity in diversity.

This ability to relate to everyone can sometimes make it difficult to actually guess this ascendant placement. Ascendant is our outward appearance and a mask we show everyone, having Pisces as the sign in the first house, can make one very changeable. These people may like to keep altering their physical appearance, ranging from changing hair styles, to clothing styles to as much as their whole personality every once in a while. They can also be one of those people who behave according to the company they have. Since they have the intuitive edge to understand human behavior they might be able to quickly adapt their own personality to imitate the people that surround them.

As for physical appearance. Pisces is a feminine sign ruled by Jupiter. This points towards them having a tendency to gain weight, small hands and feet, not very tall maybe above average height and softer features. Like other water ascendants, there can be some emphasis on their eyes. Unlike Scorpio risings, who might have hypnotic eyes, people with Pisces ascendant may have very deep and soulful eyes. Something that will compel you to drown into them. Physical attributes might change based on placement of Jupiter in the chart as well as if there are any other planets placed in the ascendant.

For someone having Pisces as their ascendant, fluidity and change is a very important aspect in life. These people become very uncomfortable in environment that are rigid and fixed. Pisces is a mutable water sign which brings in this love for change in their persona.

Pisces is known for its sensitivity, imagination, intuition and compassion. All these characteristics will manifest in an ascendant sign, moon sign, sun sign in a different way. That is, having one’s sun for example in pisces might be different from having this sign in one’s ascendant.  For an ascendant person, their overall aura will almost always be very calming and compassionate towards other people. If you have this placement, and you like the people you are with, you will always get this response from people that they just feel happy when they are in your presence. That is truly a wonderful gift to have. But, this is only if you like the surrounding. Pisces is such a receptive sign that if not checked it can very quickly absorb all what is around. If there are people who make you uncomfortable or have a negative energy to them, that can very quickly bring you down. Ascendants might have this issue more than other planetary placements. You need to be able to make a shield for yourself to protect your own energy.

Because ascendant is you per say, having this imaginative sign can make a person very good in making stories and entertaining people. Pisces are always labelled as introvert. Although that is mostly the case, but that doesn’t mean they do not like interacting with others. Its just the matter of who is on the other end. Since they are so malleable, they reserve their interactions for the ones they find comfort in.

With all this passive energy and receptivity, it might be easy to not look into the darker aspects of the sign. This quality of them to intuitively know people/things, can also give them the power over situations and people that they can use in a wrong way. They can have a tendency to manipulate things or emotionally blackmail people to get their way. For an ascendant placement this can manifest in being able to mask their actual identity (the sun/moon) and show people what they want to see. Such ascendants can be great at getting their way out of people all while making them believe its for their best. That can be a very dangerous quality to have.

All throughout the series, I have always iterated the fact that it each aspect or quality has two sides, it is upto us to choose which one we want to have. Pisces ascendants with their changeable personality can use that to be brilliant actors or choose to be con artists, both are possibilities and the choice is our free will.

Coming back to some more astrological facts for this ascendant, Pisces in the first, puts the water signs in the trikon houses of dharma in your natal chart. This means that your creativity and purpose of life comes from emotions and feelings. You should choose your educational and learning path as something that makes you feel comfortable and happy. Pisces in the first, also puts the four mutable signs in the kendra 1-4-7-10 houses. Which re-iterates the fact that they do prefer changes in their life more than a life path with rigidity. These can truly be the “Going with the flow” kind of people.

In addition, how Jupiter is placed in their chart will be of outmost importance, not only because it rules the ascendant but also the 10^th house. So their career path will also be defined by it. Irrespective of the placement, it is Jupiter that grants this sign its natural benevolence, compassion and joy giving ability. If these people are given a loving environment, they can turn out to be the most affectionate and caring beings you will ever come across…

Hello all, welcome back to the next sign in the ascendant zodiac series – the airy Aquarius. Have you ever had coworkers or friends or family member having such an out of the box personality that you may find difficult to relate to them at times? You might be in the presence of an aquarian ascendant person. Or maybe you are one. Lets talk about these visionaries and get to know them some more.

Starting with their physical appearance. Aquarius is the natural 11^th sign, being odd numbered masculine in nature. This many a times gives such people tall, leaner body structure with sharp features. Like their predecessors Capricorn, this sign is also traditionally ruled by Saturn. So physical attributes pertaining to Saturn being the lagna lord might be shared between the two ascendants. But overall the two signs could not be more different.

Aquarius is an air fixed sign. What I mean by that is, it belongs to the air element and that makes such people extremely curious and mentally active people. This is the most humanitarian and futuristic sign in the entire zodiac belt. Their need to learn and give back to the society is so high that at times they might lose track of the practicality of issues. Like other air signs, these people love to think and analysis issues and situations. But unlike, gemini and libra their thoughts are mostly consumed with social reforms, what goes on in the world and how to improve it. Since the natural 11^th is all about the society and larger network, these people are all about the collective.

Even though this is a big time requirement especially in todays time, being so much involved in the collective they might lose touch of their individuality. They might at times, not pay attention to their own or their dear ones needs and requirements because they are so busy looking out for the society. Being an air sign, they might not be in touch with their emotions that much and would rather analyze their feelings than actually feel them. I have noticed that this is a pretty common theme with air predominant people.

Having this sign in the ascendant, just brings out all these qualities to the surface. You might be able to hide or mask your moon sign but you can never hide your ascendant. This is the sign that comes out as soon as you step out of your home/comfort area. An aquarius ascendant most definitely will come out to be this philanthropic humanitarian who always wants to look out for the needy, underprivileged, under-dogs of the world. Now how they may act about it might differ based on their other planetary placements but this tone always remains.

Being a fixed sign, Aquarius ascendant get the fixed signs in their kendra placements of 1-4-7-10^th houses. Even though they have this airy, free spirit they do not like changes in many aspects of their life unlike their other air counterparts. Ruled by Saturn, they like routine and structure. They are a little less uptight about it than Capricorns but they enjoy the regular activities.

Another characteristic that I feel does not come up that often with an Aquarius person is their secretive nature. People always associate secrecy and private activities with Scorpio but I would like to mention here that Aquarius can be very secretive about their own life. Sure they talk and love to know about the world, but you will always notice that they rarely will disclose details about their life and inner feelings. I believe, this can be attributed to the fact that Saturn the ruler of lagna also rules the 12^th house of the unconscious mind and hidden things. Maybe somehow these people feel that they need to protect their life from the damage the world can do until they are ready for it and so put in their best effort to hide it.

12^th house is all about, letting go, complete dissolution and the unconscious realm, something not from this world. The lagna lord co-ruling the 12^th house might result in these people never fully trusting another person. It might be difficult for such people to allow themselves to give in to another person and probably why they might some hardships in forming relationships.

But Saturn even though delays things, if worked on consistently will always give long lasting success be it in career, home, relationships or any materialistic possession. For all the aquarius ascendants out there, all I would like to say is try trusting the world a little. I know we all need to be cautious of our surrounding in this present day and age, but we need to trust that in the end, all that is good and necessary is what will happen. If these ascendants are able to utilize their 1^st and 12^th house energies they can open up a whole new universe for them which can set them free.

Welcome back to the 10^th zodiac sign, the Ambitious Goats- Capricorns. This is the last earth sign of the zodiac belt as well as the last moving one. Now this creates an interesting combination of “Moving- Earth”. We will come back to this concept later in the article but lets first begin with the physical appearance of a Capricorn ascendant.

People who have Capricorn as their ascendant mostly have lean, tall kind of a body structure. They might have sharp features and somewhat of a pale touch to their appearance. Now this will not apply to people with their sun/moon or other planets in the sign. Ascendant rules your physical appearance and how the world sees you. So with the natural 10^th sign in your ascendant you most likely will have a serious saturnian aspect to your looks owing to Saturn’s rulership of the sign.

Capricorns being ruled by Saturn, more often than not do not have a tendency to gain weight which can be a great advantage for some people but they might also be prone to health issues. Again, lot of these can be modified based on the placement of Saturn and other planets in the natal chart.

Like the symbol associated with the sign, a mountain goat, Capricorn ascendants have the ability to survive in the most adverse terrains with minimal resources. The goat symbolizes the material earth bound aspect of the sign. These are the people who would go through extreme rough patches in life but still not give up and continue to work hard to achieve a higher standing in life. Capricorn ascendants can most certainly be considered as the extreme self-disciplined, responsible and goal-oriented people that you would ever come across.

Having Capricorn as one’s ascendant, the natives have a very earthy composure about them. Being in the earth element gives these people a calmness similar to the other earth signs but with Capricorn, this calmness is mostly due to the fact that they are busy in analysis and making plans for their life/situation. They can be regarded as the best planners of the zodiac. They are very cautious people and will evaluate all possible outcomes of a situation before diving in. This gives them the calmness they demonstrate even in dire situations.

Due to their ability to always think before they act, they can be great problem solvers and advisers for other people. If you know of people in your surrounding who, you know will always have great advice for you and solutions to your problems especially related to career, money etc, know that you are most likely in the presence of a Capricorn.

Along with the Earthy element, Capricorn is a moving sign. What this means is it requires change and movement in its life. These people are never scared of changes, and put in their planning skills, these ascendants can be the people who handle big changes in their life in the best possible way.

They are always looking at opportunities to grow both professionally and personally. Ruling the natural 10^th house of career, they might be the people moving jobs, putting themselves in situation needing lot of hard work and learning for growth.

But as with every aspect of life, these qualities of a Capricorn can be self-harming as well. They can  become so focused on their outer life that they tend to disregard their as well as others emotions. These natives are not very good at sharing their feelings. Probably they don’t know how to. Maybe because of their lagna lord being Saturn, such people find it hard to deal with emotional situations and will probably try to find a logical solution to one. If you or someone who has predominant Capricorn energy in their chart, it will be very beneficial for you to try to relax and live life a little. Not everything needs to be controlled and handled all the time. Its alright to not know all solutions!!

In addition to ascendant ruling your physical body, it also sets a path for the rest of the chart. Based on that, other signs go into various houses that govern different areas of life. With Capricorn in your ascendant, the earth signs of Taurus and Virgo go into your 5-9 trikon houses. Making most of your dharma duties inclined towards material possessions. Not to sound that such people are materialistic, but for them being able to have a good home, profession and wealth is utterly important and is linked to their happiness. This is another reason for their ambitious and competitive nature. Their kendra houses are occupied by all moving signs allowing them to be comfortable with the necessary change in life to grow.

Overall to conclude, if you ever need a sound adviser, hard-worker with never giving up attitude, a Capricorn ascendant is your guy/gal. Just keep in mind, to motivate them to express their emotional side as well as they do their professional one.

Welcome back to another ascendant analysis, the Freedom loving and truth-seeking Sagittarius. After the lengthy last article on the intense scorpios, Sagittarius will bring in the much-required fun and excitement. I guess I have already started with some of the personality traits of the sign. Having your ascendant in this sign will certainly make people believe that all these traits describe you, irrespective of how you are at your core (moon, sun and other placements are equally important).

Lets start with the physical appearance. Sagittarius is a fiery sign ruled by Jupiter. This in itself gives some idea of how they look like. Being a fiery sign, these people probably have a strong composition. The symbol most often associated with the sign is an archer, who is half human and half horse. This again adds to the strong horse like physical body. That can be muscular, lean, slender however but overall they will be considered well-built. Jupiter, can give them some opulence and put them in the heavier side and also give a benevolence to their appearance.

Coming to the general characteristics of the sign, Sagittarius is always associated with freedom, love for adventure, risk/thrill seekers, always up for learning new ideas/cultures/philosophy etc. People with planets in Sagittarius or ascendant will have a different kind of zest for life in general. They will have this inherent quality of being optimistic and jovial. Not that they, do not have troubles in life, but these are the set of people you will consider as the happy types.

Having your ascendant in Sag, only intensifies this. Since people perceive you as your ascendant sign most of the times, your Sagittarius ascendant will give out this vibe of always being full of life, optimistic and encouraging. Your ascendant being ruled by the Big Benefic Jupiter, probably explains most of these qualities, Jupiter also know as Guru, is associated with higher learning, philosophy, wealth, wisdom and luck. Being ruled by Jupiter gives a person a high interest in learning and experience lots of new cultures and ideas. Now in doing so, they also need a lot of freedom.

It may feel like this is the best sign to be with so much positivity and abundance, but as I always say the same set of qualities can have a darker side to. Their desire to learn and experience everything new that the world has to offer will lead them to be bored with mundane stuff. They can be impatient people who get bored easily and might leave projects, situations, people, job etc when they feel like nothing new is left for them to learn. It is for this reason that they have earned this bad reputation of the leavers of the zodiac, or people afraid of commitments. Their love for freedom might over-power their need for stability in life. They can be the forever wanderers who rather spend their life travelling than getting stuck in some daily regular life. It is just how we perceive them, they can be the best company or the worst partners.

With Sagittarius falling in your 1^st house, the kendra houses are occupied by the dual signs and the 1-5-9 trikon houses by the fire signs. This makes you a strong willed and highly motivated person. You are always willing to take action and face life head-on. With dual houses in your kendra, you are one of those people who are comfortable in either flexibility or ridgity in major life areas such as your home, work and life partner. More inclined towards fluidity due to Jupiter and mercury rulerships, you like some kind of changes in life every now and then. Because, all four kendras are ruled by either Jupiter or mercury, their placement in your chart will reveal more details about your overall persona. But all in all, Jupiter gives you the much-needed optimism and love for life and the world as a whole.

Hello everyone, welcome back to the next stop of this series, the Mystical Scorpios. Fair warning, this might end up going deep and intense. I usually write these articles in one go and let the ideas flow on their own accord. I remember the cancer ascendant went on to be pretty long. Lets see what this water sign holds…

To start this, lets first talk about the physical appearance and personality of people having scorpio as their ascendants. Scorpio Lagna usually have a strong physique, they may/may not be muscular or well built but always have a poise and charisma to their appearance.  There is a very hypnotic feel to their personality, especially due to their eyes. If you notice all water ascendants will have something special in-regards to their eyes. It will definitely be a feature that people will remember. See if you can find some of these intense gazes around you. Ruled by the planet Mars, such people have a strong rugged look, that does not mean the females will have masculine features but that they will have a strong body persona.

Ruled by the fiery planet Mars and being a water sign, this truly encompasses the fire water combination. Lets first talk about the influence of mars. Scorpios are considered very magnetic, charming and attractive. This sign has been notoriously known for its sex appeal and mystical nature. Mars is a natural warrior, which gives these people a fighting spirit and an edge in everything they do. If they want to command they can and will. Such people have very strong will power, although this might differ based on the placement of Mars and other planets in the natal chart but in general Mars gives them the courage to take up challenges and charge forward in whatever direction they want.

Mars is also known as a planet of taking action, courage, passion and desires. Which is probably why, having an ascendant in this sign makes people so appealing to the opposite gender/ or person of interest specifically. If you come across someone, who doesn’t really have to make an effort to impress people, not because they are handsome or beautiful per say, but there is some un-explainable quality in them, you can with a high probability say they have a Scorpio ascendant.

With all the magnetism and charm they can also embody the darker qualities of Mars and/or the sign. Mars is also known for its temper and aggressiveness. This sign like the other Mars ruled sign Aries, can have temper issues. Lets just say, you do not want to get a scorpio angry. But unlike, Aries which is impulsive and can have sudden and frequent outbursts, Scorpios may not get agitated that often. They don’t anger easily but when they do, all hell breaks loose. Primarily because for its water element. Now this is where it gets interesting. Being a water sign ruled by a fiery planet can bring in best and worst of both the worlds. On one hand, these people have the sensitivity and empathy of a water sign along with the strength and courage of Mars making them strong and sensitive. Now who doesn’t like a person like that. But if manifested on the other side, these people can have the manipulative shrewdness of water and temper of Mars making them people who could plot plans, hold grudges and seek revenge. Another quality can be jealousy, scorpios do have a tendency to be jealous. Based on their other natal placements, this can manifest in any area of life. This is something to look out for if you or someone you know has this ascendant.

This is where free will comes into play, everything- sign, planet, placement, house, nakshatra has the ability to manifest as a blessing or a boon, what it becomes is upto you on how you lead your life and what you want to become. When you talk of a water sign or house it is imperative to talk about these higher realizations.

With Scorpio holding the first house, the 1-5-9 trikon is held by the water moksha houses. And the kendra houses by all fixed signs. Like Leo and Taurus, having the fixed quadrant these people do not like a lot of changes in their life in terms of personality, their home, work and life partners. They can also be the stubborn category resisting all change.

Scorpio is the natural 8^th sign in the zodiac belt comprising of the second Moksha house. This is where it gets its depth and intensity. 8^th house in astrology deals with everything that’s hidden and intense. Their body language seems as if holding a storm within the calm exterior. There is no fun and frolic here, the topics associated with this house always have some mystical connotations to them. All these qualities of the sign and natural 8^th will in one way or the other be demonstrated by a scorpio ascendant person. Since ascendant is “You”, there will be patterns in your life revolving around these secretive, hidden kind of issues. 8^th house is also associated with obsession and possessiveness. There can be a tendency for these ascendants to be extremely protective about their life, loved ones, material possessions and anything they seem important to them. This makes these people so secretive and having a magnetic aura around them. They do not like to share a lot of information about them to people unless they fully trust someone. Trust, is something that does not come easy to them, because if you trust you loose control and 8^th is all about trying to be in control. When in reality, letting go is the actual aim of this sign.

Hello everyone, welcome back to the next ascendant in line the balancers of the zodiac- Libras. If you or someone close to you has this in their natal chart you guys are definitely going to relate to some of the major characteristics of this sign.

Why did I define them as the balancers? Well, first of all, the primary symbol associated with the sign is the scales of Justice. This signifies the innate tendency of Libra people to be just and be able to see both sides of a situation. They naturally have good negotiation skills that they use to diffuse difficult situations. Also, because they hate confrontations, they would rather try to dilute a situation or not be a part of it in the first place. This quality can be one of your traits even if you have sun/moon or a strong focus of libra in your chart but for the ascendants its something with which people identify them with.

Having your ascendant in Libra, makes you the person who keeps the group together. You find ways in which everyone can be happy. Keeping peace and balance in your surrounding is of utmost importance to you. Although, if taken too far this can also turn such ascendants into people-pleaser. In order to maintain balance you might give-in or compromise a little to much. Not that compromise isn’t important in life but, such people need to be careful in maintaining their internal balance as well. Just to keep your external environment people you shouldn’t disrupt your mental peace.

The sign of Libra is ruled by the Venus. Venus in astrology is associated to all things beautiful and this truly holds for libra ascendants. These are the people who are always good-looking. Some maybe be traditionally beautiful, some charismatic, some magnetic but there will always be put in the “good-looking” category. There is a charm and beauty in their persona that you cannot deny. Now this is something which may/ may not resonate for other libra planetary placements but definitely holds for the ascendants as, ascendant is your physical appearance and your personality.

In addition to the good looks, they have a strong inclination to arts and things of beauty. Although Taurus is also ruled by Venus, their interests differ from the Libras. While a Taurean loves luxury and comfort, their venus side is more depicted in the material aspect, for a Libra their Venusian side comes out more in the form or creativity. They would like some form of art- painting, crafts, dancing, singing etc anything that involves their creativity and mental abilities.

Because of their air and moving nature these ascendants are always on a look out for change. They have this constant need to identify themselves. Since they can be so prone to looking things from all perspectives they might have issues with decision making. It can be hard for these people to make a choice as every decision has pros and cons associated with it and they know it. Welcome back, after the last article on the fiery lions of the zodiac lets now come to the earthy soft but not timid Virgos. Virgo is the sixth sign in the zodiac belt. Its Earthy and dual in nature. What do I mean by that? The element classification of the signs is something probably everyone knows. Based on that Virgo falls as an Earth sign. But there is another classification of these signs in in terms of their modality. There are three of these, fixed, movable and dual. Virgo falls in the dual category.

Now if someone’s ascendant falls in virgo, they will most likely show these dual and earthy characteristics of the sign. Especially when you meet them for the first time or don’t know them well. As mentioned in the previous articles, ascendant is one’s outward personality, something one puts up when going out in the world. When you are someone’s acquaintance you probably are interacting with that person’s rising sign rather than their actual sun or moon sign which determine who the person really is at his/her core.

Virgos like other earth signs are very stable, practical and work oriented. More so than the previous earthy Taurus, Virgos love to work and focus very much on the details of things. These people can be called the perfectionists of the zodiac. Obviously if you have this ascendant but have contrasting planet placements in the rest of the chart you may not resonate with this, but if you pay attention to your own behavior closely you might see glimpses of these traits.

Being someone who pay close attention to details, these people can be very critical of things, people or even themselves. Because they want every work, task, person around them to be perfect they tend to be very nit-picky and can cause lot of stress and anxiety to themselves and others. This tendency to be fidgety can also be attributed to the dual nature of the sign. Being a dual sign, virgos always have this internal battle going on between perfecting the details and letting go of the critical analysis of anything and everything.

Another aspect that make Virgos adept in technical and objective analysis is that the ruler of the sign is Mercury. Having mercury as your ascendant ruler makes one very good in analysis and have a good grasping power. Whether they use their mind in technology, arts, humanities or any field they do have a strong mind and capability to learn and adapt quickly. For virgo ascendants, mercury is also their 10^th lord and hence making it all the more important in terms to deciding their career and professional life. Such people should and probably will have good mental capabilities and will be able to use that in their professional life.

Additionally, mercury is exalted whereas venus is debilitated in Virgo. What this translates for such a rising is that they put more focus and will be good at mercurial things of life than the Venusian ones. Not that this means, they are not good in arts but they probably will have a better footing in logical analysis, mathematical aptitude than the Venusian subjective beauty areas of life.

Just to add one more point here before closing, Virgo being the natural 6^th house of the kaal-purush chart that governs health, daily routine activities, the stomach and digestion, these people have keen interest in maintaining and improving their health. You will always notice one way or another, the people who have planets or ascendant in virgo are very careful with their physical body. They pay attention to what they eat and want to make sure all ingredients are just perfect.

Hi all, welcome back to the next chapter in the ascendant series the kings of the zodiac- Leos. These majestic beings are again pretty different from the last sign Cancer. Lets get right into understanding them shall we.

I would like to start with their appearance. Why? Primarily because I have noticed many a times people with Leo ascendant have and take a lot of pride on their amazing hair. Like a lion who takes a lot of pride on his mane, these people have an outward appearance of a king or leader of which their hair is an integral part.

Leo is the natural fifth sign of the zodiac and the second fire sign. The fifth sign/house in vedic astrology represents creativity, self expression, arts, being able to showcase your talents, love interests etc. These qualities come naturally to someone who has planets/sun/moon or ascendant in leo. With the ascendant, particularly the ability to act as a leader, to be able to express yourself through your personality is easy for these people. Now ofcourse, depending on other placements this maybe amplified or dampened. So a Leo ascendant with pisces moon might be very different from a one with say aries moon. As always all the aspects of a chart are important.

Leo being your first house, puts the three fire signs in your 1-5-9 houses, the dharma trikon. This means that you are the doers of the zodiac. The fire signs are always ready for any challenges, they are willing to put in the work and energy in any task. Whether you complete it or not is another story. But you are always up for anything new.

In addition to being a fire sign, Leo is a fixed sign. This enhances their stubbornness if you will. The same set of leadership skills can very easily be considered as egoistical and arrogant by other people. And sometimes it might be true.
